Sophie is a spectacular, handmade art doll, created with new and rescued textiles and jewelry bits.

Sophie is wonderful in vintage cotton - black floral stripes on harvest gold - over a black petticoat. Her head wrap is more of the striped fabric topped with a lovely black lace head scarf.

Around her throat, Sophie wears a burnished brass colored raven skull pendant on twisted threads, hand molded with epoxy clay. Her hand made tassels are made to match and dangle from more twisted threads, topped with black beads. On her forehead, Sophie wears a vintage rhinestone with a hint of yellow that really sparkles in the sun.

She is made from heavy muslin, painted and stained for a warm, primitive look. Sophie is firmly stuffed using new polyfill, but has a solid core of fabric scraps to give her added density and weight. She sits in a short can which has been painted and distressed with bits of color peeking through the cracks.

Sophie comes with a sealed fortune and will become a cherished member of your household. Or perhaps a unique gift for your favorite witch.

The fortune is vintage, from the old penny fortune machines which used to be found at roadside restaurants, boardwalks, carnivals, etc.

You will receive a random fortune in a hand made envelope.

I would also add that because of the age of the fortunes, there are some slight digs at husbands and wives - nothing bad, but I wouldn't want anyone even slightly offended.

My dolls are all handmade in a primitive style using mostly rescued or reclaimed materials. Stitches may be imperfect, you might find a spot of glue - sometimes part of the plan, always part of the charm.
